"Leffe" Blonde - flagship Brewery Leffe beer super-premium, created by a unique ancient recipe that was almost lost in the last century. Development of the recipe dates back to the XII century and belongs to the monks of the Abbey of Notre Dame de Leffe. Beer is made from several varieties of hops, pale malt and a small addition of corn.
Elegant el "Leffe" Blondet has a sufficiently high degree of alcohol (6.6%), but for the rich fruity aroma and rich, palatable she hardly felt.
Beer "Leffe" began to brew in the XII century, the monks of the abbey Notre Dame de Leffe, located in the south of the Belgian province of Namur, near the town of Dinan. Over the years, and the abbey and the brewery has repeatedly been subjected to destruction by natural disasters and wars took place. In 1735, a large part of the brewery was destroyed by Hungarian hussars, who live in the monastery. After the French Revolution in 1794 the church and its possessions were confiscated, and the monks left the abbey. By 1809 brewing was discontinued.
Restoring production of beer "Leffe" began only in the mid XX century, in 1952. Later, the right to produce beer under the brand name "Leffe" purchased by the famous Belgian brewer Interbrew, which in 2004 merged with the company AmBev, forming a holding company "InBev". In 2008, "InBev" merged with "Anheuser-Busch", becoming the world's largest brewer Anheuser-Busch InBev.
Today beer under the brand name "Leffe" brewed for Anheuser-Busch InBev Stella Artois factory in the Belgian city of Leuven. All beer "Leffe" ales are (except Ruby) and have a fortress above 6%. Refurbished Abbey near Dinan receives some funds for the use of the name "Leffe", and in Dinan is a museum of beer "Leffe".
