Origin of the name cognac "Akhtamar" is surrounded by a beautiful legend: once upon a time, in the 10th century, King Gagik I Bagratuni dynasty built a luxurious royal palace on the island of Akhtamar in Lake Van, located in the heart of the medieval principality of Great Armenia. Excellent spacious residence was surrounded by lush green parks and orchards. The name of this small island inspired by the legend of the love of the beautiful princess Tamara boy who drowned in the deep blue waters of Lake Van, with the words "Oh, Tamar."
